508 bar + restaurant

Dined on April 27th.

In 2014, Bar 508 was named a top 10 sports bar in the US.
I stopped here for lunch, accompanied by my 2 co-workers Kim and Annette. It is located next to our office building, so it was the obvious choice for a quick lunch.

First Impressions – 508 recently remodeled their space, at least the upstairs. The downstairs remains unchanged. The new space looked hip and fresh. It still had the look and feel of a sports bar, but more stylish. The upstairs has new floors, walls, booths, and lighting. We were all definitely impressed with the upgrades.

Service – Our server was helpful and attentive. Not only did she offer up some details about the remodel, she also mentioned that 508 had added some new items to their menu. She shared her favorites. Overall, great service.

Kim enjoyed the Marinated Grilled Ribeye Tacos ($9) topped with shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, queso fresco, sour cream & salsa roja. The tacos were served with rice & black beans. They are considered one of the popular menu items.
Annette ordered the Steak Lettuce Wraps ($13) which consisted of grilled marinated flank steak, guacamole, citrus sesame slaw & bibb lettuce. She thought they were very good.
I could not pass up the combination of bacon, pepper jack cheese and avocado so I decided on the Chicken Avocado Melt ($13) served with house made kettle chips. The chips were crispy with a slight hint of salt. They were tasty.  The sandwich was good, but I would have preferred that it come on something else other than sourdough bread.
Verdict – With the remodel and the new menu items, 508 has transformed itself into a different bar. So far, I liked what I saw. I enjoyed the visit and highly recommend that everyone checks out the new 508 bar, either for lunch or to grab a drink.
