Dined on February 17th.
Parlour, a cocktail bar located in the North Loop area had been on my list due to the rave reviews of their burger. When I got the opportunity to go there, I did not hesitate.
First Impression: As anticipated, Parlour was crowded. It was standing room only. The bar is small and cozy, but they do have couch seating areas if you can find the space. Overall, a great looking lounge to gather with friends.
The bar was dark so it was difficult to capture a good picture of the Parlour Burger ($14) and the Hand-Cut fries ($5). The fries were crispy, nicely salted, and delicious. They tasted even better when dipped in the aioli that came with them. The burger met and exceeded my expectations. It is amazing and tasty. At first glance, the burger is unassuming and simple, but as soon as you take that first bite, you know you are eating something wonderful. No lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard, mayo, or onions needed. It is prepared with just american cheese, two beef patty grinds of sirloin, ribeye, and brisket on a grilled bun. The burger does come with pickles on the side, but I totally ignored them. I agree with many that this is one of the best burgers in Minneapolis.
Verdict: My recommendation is to go there and order the burger, the fries, and a cocktail (I hear their old fashioned is the way to go). Once you have those three items in hand, sit back and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
